The application form lists the proof you will need to provide to confirm that you are eligible for a Railcard.

You qualify if you

  2. Are registered deaf.
  3. Have epilepsy, and are disabled by repeated attacks even though you receive drug treatment.
  4. Receive Attendance Allowance.
  5. Receive Disability Living Allowance (in the Higher Rate for help with getting around, or in the Higher or Middle Rate for help with personal care).
  6. Receive Severe Disablement Allowance.
  7. Receive War Pensioner's Mobility Supplement.
  8. Receive War or Service Disablement Pension for 80% or more disability.
  9. Or are buying or leasing a vehicle through the 'Motability' scheme.

Children aged from 5 and under 16 may also be eligible for a Disabled Persons Railcard, if they can meet at least one of the required criteria. Although they only need to pay the normal child's fare, an adult can travel with them at the discounted rate of one third off the adult fare.
